Greetings, It's that time once again to point out one of the major virii going around the net. This one has been out since last month, but only recently has it been growing in popularity. It started targeting computers in early in May, and then spread from there to multiple countries around the world in just a short amount of time. Right now it's mainly targeted at Windows users as the virus tends to go unnoticed. However I'm being told it CAN infect OSX and Linux users (Still waiting on a confirmation on that last bit). The virus in question, called Rombertik, is a self-destructing virus that deletes your Master Boot Record (MBR). The Master Boot Record (MBR) is essentially the information in the first sector of any hard drive that identifies how and where an operating system is located so that it can be booted (loaded) into the computer's main storage or random access memory and then displayed on your screen. Once this Master Boot Record (MBR) is deleted your computer pretty much goes into an endless restarting mode because it no longer has anything to tell it what to do or where to go after it completes it's Power-On Self Test (POST). Currently right now Rombertik is a tricky virus in that it will carry out internal self checks to see if it is under analysis by anti-virus software. If it thinks it's being detected it will go and attempt to delete the MBR as stated above. If that doesn't work it can employ another trick and write a byte of data over 900+ million times to overwhelm the analysis tools looking for it. CRITICAL EXPLOIT FOUND IN ADOBE FLASH PLAYER! Greetings, If you haven't already I HIGHLY suggest that you update your Adobe Flash Player as this BRAND NEW CRITICAL EXPLOIT applies to all versions of Adobe Flash Players up to and including 18.0.0.194! This was found by a weekend leak from Ars Technica who discovered the "0day" malicious code after a group of unknown hackers hacked Hacking Team and released over 400GB of data onto the net. You read that right... over 400GB... of data. This exploit could allow hackers to remotely execute code on any computer that is running any version up to the one listed above. It will allow malicious native-code to be running at ANY TIME WITHOUT your knowledge. The danger here is that MANY malicious coders have already put this code into an array of malware titles such as Angler and Nuclear exploit kits that were discovered by Malwarebytes out of the blue and a well known security researcher. If you're not sure if your Adobe Flash Player is up to date following the newest recent update then you can check on Adobe's website here: Adobe Flash Player Version Check Source: CRITICAL ADOBE FLASH PLAYER EXPLOIT Very Respectfully, Shadow Remix Edited by ShadowRemix, Wednesday Jul 8 2015, 05:12 PM.

So in other words, older versions of Flash Player just turned into JavaScript? Kidding, but I was wondering why my web browser blocked all Flash Player content and told me to update. Thanks, our deep fried techie. Edited by Amnimate, Saturday Jul 11 2015, 04:05 AM.
