Hell no. I'm still using CS3 myself :ph43r:

Why so many changes in actionscript 3? I know there was a 'practical' reason for the changes, but I can't remember what.

Basically, instead of using movie clips on the stage to control your script they're making you use something called "listeners" instead. Not sure how they work TOO well yet, but this pretty much allows for cleaner code and not having to jump frames (or even scenes) to edit a few lines of script.

Thankfully they gave us the option of using AS 2.0 even with CS5.5. That way, you can still develop in original ActionScript, allowing yourself learning time without losing out on productivity.

With all the folks popping up wanting to get started on all their fresh ideas and animations, I felt it'd be a great opportunity to share with you all the best animation tutorial series on YouTube, and that's Happy Harry's HuHa 2 How To's. While the name is long winded and silly, I'm very serious when I say that this is a great foundation to work on especially if you care to learn flash animation. This will make you better than satisfactory, and that's what you should certainly want for yourself. Check it out:

PS: Also, if you're curious about Toon Boom Studio (which is what I use and a great alternative to flash for beginners), I made a tutorial series on how it operates on my YouTube channel.
