I've done that before. Since it is easier for me to do 3d than 2d, I first animate the scene in 3d, then I import the movie into flash, and trace over it making an awesome 2d effect. First appearance of the Forest Bird ![]() It's a little choppy because animated gif's seem to run at 12fps. This was originally 25 fps. This clip is from one of my earlier idea's called DinoRPG (it was originally suppose to be a game). I've change my style of drawing since then, so I've never finished the moive. I'm just going to restart it, or edit it , when I feel like it. |

Sry 4 teh double post, but I have a fast question. If I were to animate a ball that was of light weight, but made of hard material...how would I go about doing it? (Homework ) I know it may sound easy, but I have spent the last 3 hours trying to pull it off, and it doesn't look right! |

Since it's hard it won't bounce much. Don't know about weight though, since everything falls at the same speed. |

Yeah, I thought hard meant that it won't squish on impact, and light meaning it will bounce high.

SO MANLY IT HURTS

It'd probably move like a ping pong ball, though that's the exact opposite of heavy. You'd want it to accelerate downward, have little-to-no stretch, and give it a bit of hangtime up top. |

Thanks, that sound's about right. Right now, I'm actually trying to imagine me throwing a marble. Because it's light, but hard, it will bounce, but won't squish. Oh well, I better get back to work. |

Wait, are your asking for help....on how to draw...the same way...as you draw? Well if you have a tablet, just draw the way you normally do...I think? |

I think I understand what he is saying. "How can I translate how I draw on paper to how I draw in flash?" It takes time and experimenting. You obviously cannot draw EXACTLY the way you can in flash (unless you are someone like lenkobiscuit) For me I have been experimenting with my lines...against Kaizoku's wishes, I use the brush tool and erase parts of my lines to be thin. Then there is a tool to smooth it out, giving it a nice look. It does give a nice effect at 100% and it won't look...well, Newgrounds-ish. Practice is key. Also I have been experimenting with actually building the form to animate. it does make the process a little bit easier frame-by-frame wise and it doesn't make inbetweening feel like an uphill battle. Does that help? |

'Scuse the necro post, but I have a question. Okay, this piece of info is ludicrously hard to come across, not least because the tutorial package I searched for and downloaded was a complete COPY of their part 1 for some inexplicable reason. Had some very helpful advice on how to use other functions, mind. But anyway, here goes. How in the hell do you use the 'camera' functions on Flash cs3; zoom, pan, tilt, whatever? Failing this, I'll happily constrain everything to a bigass graphic symbol <.< |
