Sonic Unleashed; Sonic can drift on water!

I guess. I'm a bit worried how noone who plays this knows how to steer properly through a bunch of rings.

I love how a screw up is rewarded with Sonic getting held up and slown down, instead of, you know, instant death.

It seems like the game is getting delayed as the shipping dates for gamestop is going farther and farther... this may be a good thing since, SEGA seems to be taking their time with this game.

Also, I freaking love that opening cutscene. Waaaaaay better then Sonic 06.

EDIT: Yup, the game is getting delayed, SEGA changed from Fall 08 to Winter 08 on their site.

2nd EDIT: Wow, ok the Wii version is just pure failure.

From SEGA forums:
"Would the wii version have hub worlds too?"

Static hub worlds for the wii version has been confirmed, where you don't move around, but point and click on boxes.

"Winter '08" still includes the next two months, RGX. =P

And yes, I think we all expected the Wii version to make sacrifices. I'm getting the 360 version.

Whilst I still can’t confirm for you an official release date for Unleashed, I can at least confirm Sonic Unleashed will be hitting shelves in November.

Early scene with Sonic and Chip. Some of the hub world is shown and an Act is played by someone who knows what they're doing. It's the 360 version. Framerate issues? HAR.

I see the load times are still rather long, at about 20-30 seconds, but thankfully they seem to be less frequent, only loading when there's a new level, not between every goddamn bit of dialogue.

Ugh, why haven't they fixed the controls yet? It looks almost impossible to maneuver Sonic around slight turns or even just straight pathways. He'll either ride against the wall or run right into one. And they should've implemented slow motion for when you have to duck under something. Or at least show the action coming sooner.

If it meant you could keep your momentum, I don't think it would be very boring at all. I'd take convenience over frustrating gameplay mechanics any day.

I personally thought the delay was just fine, I could see myself easily mastering the timing in a setting or two. I'd rather have that than the game hold my hand the entire way.
