Hands-on impressions from Destructoid. The writer was either drunk or hell just froze over, because he says the Night-time stages are better then the Day-time stages: http://www.destructoid.com/tgs-08-sonic-un...t--106957.phtml

He does make some valid points though. There does seem to be more actual 'control' in the Werehog bits as opposed to the 'hold right and jump now and then' nature of the Sonic levels.

2 new trailers, one of the Wii version showing the High Europe and Greece level: http://wii.ign.com/dor/objects/14242720/so...aileroct15.html
And one of a new stage with a Arabian theme (Xbox 360/PS3 version): http://www.sega.co.uk/games/?t=EnglishUK&g=230&v=965

In the Wii trailer, Sonic's voice sounds... different.

Could just be his Japanese voice actor. You can barely hear him though.

Oh and does anyone else think the Arabian level theme sucks? Like, alot?

I can hear him good enough to make out it's not the Japanese voice actor. But i'm not sure if it's Griffith either.

Oh dear. That video's mace me reach a low, low place.

Here's why. To me the daytime levels look like funless cutscenes. The nighttime levels, however, are looking increasingly fun, and are reminding me more and more of a SEGA classic.

Now I really, really hate the idea of Sonic the Werehog and wish it had never been thought of, but God help me it's becoming the only reason I would get this game.

Insector: I totally agree. Next Gen needs more Ristar.

In other news, Sega put out a new trailer: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=cL3R7JEjeG4

I heard it'll be released on November 18 in the USA. And in Japan on December 16. And there's a rumor that it'll be released in Europe on November 14.

I have HEARING AIDs. OWWWW.

So judging by these trailers, the whole "Hedgehog Engine" thing Sega have been cooking up is just a means of pushing Sonic along levels as fast as possible? And here I foolishly thought it would help make the game more playable.

I totally agree though, the Werehog gameplay looks interesting. Which disturbs me deeply.

A gaming engine is merely something that renders physics and/or graphics within the context of what is programmed into it. It's still up to SEGA to actually execute things properly.
