You're not doing a very good job!

Only control problems I have is either drifting with Sonic and jumping from pole to pole with the Werehog.

The only part I hated was everything it was all horrible! Plus the werehog form was a bit out of shape. The fucking arms were just plain shitty, that made no sence. And I got nothing else to say.

The only problem I had with the game was the day time levels and that last stage with eggmanland (still stuck). Personally, I think I had an easier time with the were-hog levels. I can't stop playing the game for some reason it's just soooo much fun (for me). And I like chip... and I am not ashamed lol.

I still can't believe the 360 version got the ratings it did. What BS is that?! I loved the game. Me and my friend try to beat each others time for Windmill Isle Act 2.

I have HEARING AIDs. OWWWW.

I haven't played it in ages now. Absolutely no desire to slog through that torturous thing. The only reason I played it recently was to demonstrate it to Jacksaw while she was here, and I actually had more fun demonstrating Sonic '06.

At least Sonic '06 is bad in such a way that it's amusing to show off to others, like how much effort it takes just to make it through the first level as Sonic, and how ridiculous the super speed segment at the end is. With Sonic Unleashed it's so unapologetically putrid that there's no fun to be had at all, not even of the ironic variety.

I know, right? It's a such a fun game...but we live in a sick and twisted world were nothing makes sense anymore.

Besides the highly repetitive button press sequences and drifting I still say Sonic's daytime stages are highly underrated. I really don't see whats wrong with them. In fact, I would really like to hear from others what is wrong with them instead of hearing "it sucks".

I'm pretty sure perfectly valid reasons have been given thus far, but just for clarification's sake allow me to go over it.

Playing as Sonic in the daytime levels is akin to playing as a hyperactive child on a severe sugar buzz, strapped to rollerskates with a rocket tied to his arse, activated every time he so much as moves an inch. The speed is utterly ludicrous, to the point that actually trying to control Sonic is an exercise in futility. Oh, this game is fast alright, but the speed you get is completely artificial and about as satisfying as a boot to the balls. So when it gets to the platforming, which there surprisingly is some of at times, you find yourself completely buggered because you're trying to navigate onto something with the world's least stable platforming character imaginable.

Despite the fact that there's those ever-so-popular 2.5D bits, they absolutely fail to be anything like the 2D environments of the classic games. They're more in the vein of Sonic Rush (which I despise, by the by) in that for the most part you're just encouraged to sped along as fast as possible across a set course, until occasionally being lumped in an extremely awkward platforming section like mentioned above. The enjoyment of the original Sonic games came from being able to make Sonic move at your own pace, and any speed you'd get would be earned through cleverly moving around the course in a manner that suited it. This just shoves speed at you most of the damn time so instead of actually achieving anything you're just following along at ridiculous velocity, trying like hell to work out when you're supposed to hold down the analogue stick or jump because the environments rush by way too bloody quickly. This goes for both the 2.5D and 3D parts.

Also, there are BOTTOMLESS PITS on the FIRST STAGES. And too many of them. And they're waaaay too easy to fall into. Like if you happen to not time a jump completely right because the surroundings are a blur and you've no fucking clue what's going on.

The paths may become more numerous and falling off one isn't a catastrophe in later levels, but unfortunately there's far too much of that rail-grinding nonsense that requires practically zero skill, and it all becomes a very repetitive mess.

Oh, and enemies are pussies in this game. The Sonic Boost thing that I forget the exact name of just adds to this speed nonsense, renders all the robots completely useless, and only encourages Sonic to speed forward and fall to his death because of yet another dodgily-placed bottomless pit.

There's so much to say about this but so little time arg.

I couldn't agree more about the speed. Like when you/I were trying to navigate that hub world. In the 2D environment you could easily edge forwards to the platform edge without him instantly rushing over it. Handling careful maneouvers(sp?) such as this is a pain in the neck now.

That and the grindrail stage I played. I don't think I've ever died so much/so fast in an early level. Even in Sonic Heroes e__e
