Okay, I've forced myself to play this game for over four hours now, just so I could get a good idea of what it's like without letting my first impressions forge my opinion. Of course it's not fair to completely judge a game until you've played it all the way through, but I've played about as much as I could stomach and then some. I didn't think this game was going to be much good, but I had no idea it was going to be this bad. Without any bias I can honestly say I haven't been so frustrated with a game since I played Sonic '06. Maybe it's just me. Maybe I'm old and cynical and just don't game as well as I once used to. But I reeeeally fail to see what the rest of you like about Unleashed. The daytime levels are all style over substance, and even with what platforming there is all one has to do is hold right and occasionally press the odd button without looking. It's all very pretty, make no mistake about it, but fun? Not remotely. The nighttime levels are godawful - in fact unapologetically shit. Dull, slow and plodding, and the platforming here is bloody awkward. The structure of the game is all over the place. I really had to play two Werehog levels in a row? Unbelievable. The plot is silly and all the time spent in the boring hub worlds is tiresome. The first boss I faced was a chaotic, frustrating wreck. The speed that the creators promised is here alright, but it's more of a detriment to moments like this than anything else. I know this is only early on, but I really don't like this game so far. And I actually thought there was some small chance it might be okay! So much for that. I'll probably pick it up again the next time I can summon the patience and see where it goes, but right now I'm letting that thing rest. What a mess. |

1. I did say the game is hard, am I the only one who likes a challenge? 2. Trust me this ain't no hold right or boost to win. The game gets progressively tougher with alot more platforming. 3. Ever played TMNT? 4. You'll be playing 3 sonic stages in a row next I believe. 5. I Agree. 6. I thought he was easy to be honest.. :/ I'm sorry your not liking the game so far, I still think this game has done a better job then the rush titles. Mainly because the rush games were really too easy, and didn't have as much alternate paths and not as much platforming as this title.. (well rush adventure was a little bit better) Later on though, you will "REALLY" hate the game once you reach "Continent 7". |

Damn dude, that boss was tough? Died a couple times here and there, getting used to the speed and the missiles, but in all honesty it was a fantastic boss. It reminded me of the classic games for some reason. |

I find it ironic that after the whole fear of Sonic sections being laggier than Werehog sections at the time of that Chun Nan trailer, it's the complete opposite. One hair too many on that Werehog it seems. Also Japanese voices are good. Werehog voice sounds much more unique than Jason Griffith trying to eat a tough bread roll. Though Sonic's death sound gets rather annoying. Especially if you're on Windmill Isle Act 3. |

Is that still Junichi Kabnemaru voicing the Werehog in Japanese? I can't tell sometimes. I've seen videos of Griffith and I don't think I could stand his version of "GO!" every time I boosted, nor his "WEEOO!" "YUH-EAH!" That first boss was quite possibly the most fun I've ever had with a Sonic boss. the only time I was frustrated was when I was trying to collect those Sun/Moon medals, then it was a blast to figure out the weak spot, I really can't comprehend any of those major criticisms, Chio. =\ And LOL at you guys for actually expecting the story in a Sonic game not to be silly. I like silly. |

I fail to see how this is a question of taking on a challenge or not. It sounds more like a question of preferance to me. Not everyone's going to like these games, sadly, and it's not because they're too... um, hard. |

It is pretty much that I prefer a harder game, I felt the last games were too easy, but yes not everyone likes harder games. @Gamebuddy- I hate hearing "Here we go!" and "wooooh!" every 5 seconds when I either boost or keep restarting the level when I screw up. If he didn't say it as many times it probably wouldn't bother me.. @Wonchop- If your not that far yet, you'll feel lag in Adabat (daytime) sadly....Its the level thats affected by the most framerate issues in the game... |

Y'know what's torturesome? The night level on Empire City. First you get balance beams. Anyone who's played something like Prince of Persia or God of War will know these are a bitch, and Sonic Unleashed is no exception. Then you get balance beams with SPIKES ON THE SIDE! (Thankfully at the time there was a floating platform to land on.) AND THEN YOU GET BALANCE BEAMS WITH SPIKES ON THE SIDE THAT COLLAPSE! I swear the 1-up they give you everytime you attempt it is purely for pity. May the guy who designed this level suffer anal torture from Satan's thorny manhood. And it'll be a flaming manhood so he won't enjoy it. |

Then there is Time Trial Level 3. All the other trials are easy compared them. |

I finished the last level today of the 360 version. (I bought it 3 days ago, a toy store broke the street date) The last level is like 5 times as hard as Scrap Brain zone, I lost count on how many times I died in that level. It also took me 50 minutes to complete, and I still got a B rank, while it's hard to get a good rank in this game. God bless 1-ups that lie everywhere and 1-ups you get for getting 100 rings. Also, the Adabat daytime stage has terrible frame rate issues. Anyway, I really like the game, I think it's as good as Sonic Adventure, maybe better. |

I like how Sonic now IMMEDIATELY drowns in shallow water. No boopbeepboopbeep countdowns, immediate death. It is amusing to make him run around whilst he's drowning. |
